One Framework, Two Timeframes: My Approach to Intraday and Swing Trading

I implement two different time frame strategies. Intraday or my day trading I attempt to capture intraday legs, these are singles which I use to generate income while the swing trading strategies allow for capturing multi day or multi week trends. In either case, I am trend trading.

For both time frames, I look for flags, base breakouts, flat top breakouts and tight consolidation zones. Ideally, the trade is immediately in my favor and profitable, then I do nothing. I wait. I allow the trade to work. Far too many times have I cut a trade only to see it keep going. I’ll describe this trade in a future post… Looking at you SNDK!

I dont build algo trading strategies, I’m not doing convertible arb or stat arb, I’m not long/short equity neutral. Nothing of that sort, therefore, I should not do anything complex. Simplicity is key. May be one day… but not today!

[I’ll add to this soon, until then, enjoy!]
